Ivory netsuke of a wolf and monkey by Tomotada (Active 1760-1780)
The wolf pinning the terrified monkey down with its right forepaw, the prey desperately struggling to escape its fate. The eyes of the wolf are inlays of dark buffalo horn
Signed: Tomotada. Kyoto, circa 1780
Length: 5.3 cm
In good condition with much of the original staining present, and a good patina
